What Is Morning Adhkar?

The Morning Adhkar (also known as the Morning Azkar) is a compilation of authentic adhkar (remembrances) that a Muslim is recommended to offer each morning.

These adhkar are sourced from the Quran and Sunnah, comprising of praises, supplications (duas), seeking forgiveness (istighfar), seeking protection (istiqarar), and placing trust (tawakkul) in Allah Alone.

Allah says:

"...Remember your Lord within yourself with humility and fear... in the mornings and evenings."

Reference: Qur'an 7:205

Allah also says:

"...Glorify the praises of your Lord before the rising of the sun..."

Reference: Qur'an 20:130

Best Time to Read Morning Adhkar

The preferred time is:

  • Before sunrise

If someone misses this time, many scholars permit reciting the adhkar later in the morning before Dhuhr.
